CASE STUDY: Campden Hill Gate W8 – A Luxurious Transformation

SWD, the bespoke designer door specialists, have worked in collaboration with developer Vision Space Ltd to help double the value of a property in London’s prestigious Kensington.
The main objective of the client was to amalgamate two apartments into a single 4,000sqft lateral space to create both an elegant and chic solution, reflecting their high-end taste in terms of finishes and interiors, and also a peaceful, comfortable and spacious living space.

Firas Ali, Managing Director of Vision Space Ltd, said: “Doors have been always an issue in my approach to development and design; in all previous projects, we were restricted by the choice of doors, which I always considered a key element in the overall finish, due to either cost or availability.”
“On this particular project, my clients and I were determined to overcome this and seek the right doors to fit the overall theme of quality and elegance by sourcing walnut veneered doors which also had the design and competitive edge over the limited choices available. SWD fit that purpose perfectly.”
SWD were used as the only type of doors throughout the whole development to maintain a consistent quality throughout; this even included the double doors to the boiler room and sliding leaves to a storage cupboard. 

Tony Cope, Managing Director of SWD, added: “The provision of pre-hung doorsets enabled faster installation time, while the use of hidden or concealed hinges helped improve the overall finish and contribute to the modern, slick look of the property. We also designed and installed a sliding track, incorporating a synchronizer system, to the main double reception doors. This makes the other door open or close at the same time as the other one and gave just that little extra added luxury that the client demanded.”
He concluded: “If you look at the apartment before hand, the transformation is just incredible. The doors were less than 2% of the refurbishment costs, which has helped the apartment double in value. It was a pleasure to work with such a forward thinking client as Vision Space Ltd to deliver such a high quality solution.”
