CASE STUDY: Elm Park Gardens, Knightsbridge
SWD has completed the refurbishment of this 264sqm, 2 bedroom flat in London’s upmarket Knightsbridge.
The main appeal of the pre-hung walnut doorsets with matching walnut architrave, of which 7 were supplied, was our ability to make the door heights a bespoke 2.2m high, so that they were more in keeping with the dramatic high ceilings in the flat.
Walnut was the common theme throughout to tie the project together. A matching walnut double wardrobe set in the corridor was provided with leaves of only 350mm wide. We also provided walnut plinth blocks which tied the modern walnut flat architrave in with the thicker more traditional white painted skirting. (SWD could have alternatively provided matching veneered MDF skirting if the customer would have preferred all the skirting's architraves and frames to match.)
The installation of the doorsets into subframes, fitted by the main contractor to our specification (18mm ply), was completed after all floorings and decoration had been completed in only 2 days with minimal disruption or mess.
In addition to the doorsets SWD provided ‘supply and fit’ of all the internal solid wooden shutters on the windows which were painted in an off white to the customer’s specification.
Walnut doorset model A-1012/4V with clear toughened glass.
