The girl in this shot is joining the veneers. This is a skillful job as it is important to get the veneers to match well. According to the factory owners the most skillful people with the best attention to detail are women!
The veneer is then joined and stitched with glue on a special stitching machine
This door has been veneered and edged with solid oak lippings. It has had its solid oak beading applied and is now on its way to the varnishing machines
The door here are coated with sealants, then 2 coates of tough polyurethane varnish and sanded down between coats.
These doors having been sealed are on their way to one of the large varnishing machines
As you can see, not all the processes are by machine. what the worker is doing here is applying sealer by hand to one of the grooved range of doors and rubbing down inside the grooves by hand
The door sets are pre-assembled in the factory. Once the frames have been put together the doors are hung in the frames. The hinges used are lift off hinges making it easy to put the door into the frame.
In the prehung doorset department, they are putting the doors into the frames. the locks and hinges have already been routed in
